Calling all mentors….
The Otago Young Enterprise Scheme is gearing up for another successful year in Dunedin and Otago and we need mentors and advisors to assist the teams reach their goals! The year begins for the students with Kickstart | Tīmata, these workshops are held all around NZ to start the students off on their YES journey with all the tools they will need.
Our KickStart | Tīmata day taking is place on Wednesday 27 February at Queens High School, 9.30am-12.30pm, hosted by Elizabeth Pittman, Head of YES, and we are looking for mentors to join us for the morning to assist the students in the initial development of their business.
YES Company Mentor:
A year-long commitment where you will advise, support and guide a YES company. As a mentor, you will engage and challenge the students, and act as a sounding board for their strategies and ideas.
A shorter time commitment where you are "on call" to answer any questions and share insights with YES companies on an ad-hoc basis. If your schedule allows, you may like to make some school visits to lead a session in your area of expertise. While this is less time consuming than a year-long mentor, you are still able to be involved in the students' YES journey.
“For everything I put into mentoring a team, I truly get significantly more back. Just being exposed to the vivacity and enthusiasm of young students is incredibly uplifting... And it’s FUN!
Ken Williamson, Crombie Lockwood
